Response 4 - Shall I Compare Thee to a Rainy Day?

I decided that I would incorporate a sonnet that I had published in the Backbone Mountain Review (no, that's not the same as Brokeback Mountain!). The Backbone Mountain Review is a literary journal that is sponsored by the Allegany and Garrett County Maryland Arts Councils, and is published on a yearly basis. I submitted this original sonnet in 2007 for consideration to be published and was accepted. I really like the poem and it is sort of a sequel to William Shakespeare's "Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day" sonnet, which is moderately famous.

For this project, I used the beginning 12 seconds of the song "Cosmic Journey" by Solange, and used it as a loop. I really like the trippy, cosmic sound of this song, and always wanted to use the beginning for something creative such as this. I then copied and pasted the loop to fit the amount of time it took for me to record the poem. I recorded the poem as a separate track and layered it just as was showcased in class on September 23, using Audacity. However, for this project I used the program GarageBand that comes standard on every new Mac. I am familiar with this program and find it a lot easier to use than Audacity, and Quick Time Pro.
